The best diving season starts in October or November and extends until May. Water temperature stays around 80–84°F (27–29°C).
3–15 m5 minTribe Gate
An excellent opportunity to learn diving and enjoy recreational dives, ideal for training courses with consistent visibility and frequent wildlife sightings. Our most loved dive site for people doing their first boat diving.
1–11 m20 minNeem O Reef
Easy-going diving conditions with abundant marine life and a nearby mangrove beach — accessible for first-time divers.
18–40 m1 hrDixons Pinnacle
Formed from three pinnacles covered in tube corals and barrel sponges, with a large array of sea life and moderate to strong current.
25–30 m1 hr 20 minJohnny's Gorge
A world-class dive site — a rocky outcrop surrounded by sand with large pelagic fish species and near-guaranteed shark sightings.
20–35 m1 hr 20 minJackson Bar
Favoured by experienced divers for the huge variety of marine life, with strong perpendicular currents and occasional thermoclines.
10–55 m30 minThe Wall
A wall that drops off from a plateau, suitable for divers from open water through technical levels, with abundant life and moderate to strong currents.
10–18 m1 hrMinerva Ledge
A large plateau of rock and colourful coral with flat coral gardens, 10 nautical miles from Havelock, requiring multiple dives to explore three different locations.
16–25 m1 hr 30 minBroken Ledge
A very good population of resident reef fish and turtles, with frequent large pelagic visitors.
6–18 m1 hr 50 minInlet Wreck (Vinnie's Wreck)
A 30-year-old wreck of an inter-island cargo ship near Duncan Island with 5–10 m visibility and a full propeller intact. Penetration is not possible.
6–20 m1 hr 45 minMystery Mountains
A rock outcrop near Baratang, with coral outcrops transitioning to rock formations rising from 18 m to the surface, moderate to strong currents and lower visibility.
14–18 m1 hr 20 minJacob Table
Named after its massive table corals, with huge Gorgonian sea fans — some of the best diving in the area.
6–25 m1 hr 50 minSouth Button
A small-island pinnacle with vertical coral-covered rock columns, overhangs and strange formations — a wall drop to 25 m on the western side and a coral garden under 12 m on the eastern side.
4–14 m35 minNursery
A shallow ledge of reef and rocky outcrop with abundant hard coral — ideal for beginners and snorkeling enthusiasts.
12–18 m1 hr 40 minNeil's Cove Reef
An offshore reef between the Aquarium and Neil's Cove that tapers gently to sand — an extension of the Aquarium with similar wildlife.
7–15 m30 minMV Mars
A former fishing boat that makes an easy dive for Open Water students, suitable for wreck-diving training courses, with a nearby reef.
25–35 m1 hr 30 minJunction
A very popular site amongst advanced divers with moderate to strong currents, suited to experienced divers.
